Authentic sound that'll make you smile

All vibe. No fluff.

A legend refreshed

Say hello to the DA 87SE. Inspired by the best of the DA 87i. Brought to life by the K87SE capsule. A standout performer in any scenario — the perfect 87 workhorse.

If you’re after the sound of the original Neumann U87i from the 60s and 70s, we think you’ll absolutely love the DA 87SE. It’s a no-compromise, no-frills mic that delivers the classic sound you’ve been chasing — and at a price you’ll love even more.

Vintage circuit design

Beautiful inside and out

The DA 87SE uses the same 87 style circuit as our renowned DA 87i— without the additional switches for variable pickup patterns, low-cut, and 10dB pad.

And just like the DA 87i, the 87SE uses high quality materials and components, including Panasonic FC capacitors, WIMA capacitors, polystyrene capacitors, and tight-tolerance resistors.

The K87SE Mic capsule

Hearing is believing

Thanks to the K87SE at its core, the DA 87SE delivers the unmistakeable sound of history's most iconic studio microphone.

The K87SE is made from all-brass backplates and imported gold-sputtered Mylar for authentic vintage performance that delivers warm lows and silky smooth highs.

Custom Output Transformer

Wound to perfection

Our all-new DA-BV13 output transformer was developed specifically for our DA 87i and 87SE circuits.

With a high nickel core and historically accurate 9.5:1 winding, the DA-BV13 delivers the exceptional bandwidth and low-phase shift you want in a world class microphone.

Better Than I Ever Imagined!

I received a pair of DA 87SE last year. I have now used them on my son's band's metal record that I've been tracking, co-producing and mixing with them for the last 6 months. The mic has exhibited the very balanced, warm, and open sound that you would expect from a vintage U87i. They were used with excellent vintage clone mic pres(1073, API, and tube based clones). I have achieved amazing big, detailed overheads that you would expect from a pair of expensive vintage mics that you'd pay thousands each for. They were incredible on acoustic guitar, and have impressed everyone I've played the tracks for. The DA 87SE also absolutely excelled on the vocal, and needed the least amount of eq I've ever used on a vocal. It also took the touch of analog eq I used for air, and the copious amounts of LA3a compression on it like a champ! I should soon be picking up the DA67 to add to my locker as well, Dachman is definitely knocking it out of the park!

Elegant Audio

The sound of this mic is detailed and full - worth much more than the asking price. It sounds like a very expensive German microphone. I bought the cream color which is very classy. The build quality is exceptional. The best sounding mic in my locker.

Drum overhead bliss

I purchased an 87SE for use a a mono drum overhead. I'm astounded, it's incredible. Many tracks are perfect with no eq adjustments at all. I will soon get a 2nd one.

I would like to return it!

I was going for a more tlm103 sound it overextended my miss a bit to much however it does a great job of capturing sound but I recommend it for higher pitch voices. I will purchase a tlm103 now
