So far so good!

I’ve used this mic once, for lead vocals, and was very pleased. It paired up great with my Vintech Neve clone pre. Hands down the best Neumann clone for the money so far.

This is the one

I upgraded from an Audio Technica at4040 to this and man oh man what an upgrade. Its super solid and quite heavy, meaning its got alot of guts in it. Nice clear detailed sound. Paired it with a wa-73 eq pre-amp and wa-2a limiter/compressor.

Not your dad's SM58

I borrowed a Neumann from a friend for a session, but held my breath in case I broke it. When the DA 87i arrived, I plugged it in, ran a test, carefully boxed up the Neumann, and returned it. Don't need it. The Dachman is the exact same sound, and beats everything I used before. This is the important part: my hearing isn't that good, but I could absolutely tell the difference between this and the mics I used before. The difference has to be even more dramatic to folks with good hearing. I'm not looking back!

For the money it’s worth every penny

I received the 87 I about 3 weeks ago. I am impressed so far with the durability because I accidentally dropped it on the floor and nothing happened to it but a little dent on the mesh which I easily fixed. Suggestion, you might wanna make that with heavier gauge mesh for drops and dumbasses like me lol!
The fall didn’t effect or break anything that i have observed and still sounded the great just as before the dropping of it. That’s why i wrote this review.

Slightly darker than the original…and that’s a good thing

I have used the u87 a lot in the past. The older ones sounds better. I think something changed in their manufacturing. I prefer the da 87 over it. I bought a pair for a fraction of the price. So smooth and full on my vocals and ac guitar. Good work DA.
